1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BhaktiSagar.in (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site. We may update these Terms per Section 15.

2. About BhaktiSagar

BhaktiSagar is an independent devotional reading platform operated as a content project (no corporate entity yet). Contact: hello@bhaktisagar.in. The Site provides traditional prayers (Hanuman Chalisa, Aarti, Bajrang Baan, Sankat Mochan etc.) in multiple scripts/translations with meanings and related guidance. Content is presented respectfully and is not claimed to be an official religious pronouncement.

3. Eligibility

The Site is available to users of all ages for general reading. If you are under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), please use the Site with parental guidance. By using the Site you represent that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

4. Intellectual Property

Traditional texts (e.g., verses attributed to Goswami Tulsidas) are in the public domain. Our original contributions — page design, translations, simplified meanings, explanatory articles, typography, branding "BhaktiSagar", logo, and code — are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial devotional reading and study. Any other use requires prior written permission.

5. Permitted Use

• Read, print, or save pages for personal / family recitation.
• Share links or short excerpts (e.g., one verse) with attribution to BhaktiSagar.in and a link back.
• Quote for educational or non-commercial devotional purposes with credit.

6. Prohibited Use

You must not:

• Republish entire pages or our translations/meanings on another site/app without permission.
• Use automated scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading that overloads the Site (robots.txt must be respected).
• Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
• Use the Site to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content; or to impersonate us.
• Circumvent technical protections or attempt to gain unauthorized access.

If you run a temple, school, or app and wish to reuse content at scale, write to us — we often give free permission with proper attribution.

7. User Submissions

If you send us corrections, feedback, translations, or stories via email or the contact form, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, adapt, and publish that submission (with or without credit, as appropriate) to improve the Site. You represent that you have the right to share the submission and it is not unlawful.

8. Accuracy & Updates

We strive for accurate, proof-read texts. Translations and "arth" are simplified explanations for understanding, not authoritative theological commentary. We may correct errors, update meanings, or add new languages without notice. If you spot an error, please tell us — we correct quickly.

9. Third-party Links & Ads

The Site may link to external sites (e.g., YouTube for video, Google Fonts). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. If we display Google AdSense or similar ads in future, ad content is controlled by the ad network; clicking ads is at your discretion. See our Privacy Policy — Cookies & Advertising.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BhaktiSagar and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed INR 1,000 or the amount you paid to use the Site (which is currently zero), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability; in such cases the above limitations apply to the extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BhaktiSagar from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these Terms or abuse the Site (e.g., aggressive scraping). You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections 4, 10–12, and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the location of our principal operation shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protections of your residence may additionally apply.

15. Changes to Terms

We may amend these Terms from time to time (e.g., when adding accounts, community features, or new policies). We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
